According to the news sources, in a meeting of the Planning Commission’s Central Development Working Party (CDWP), development projects of billions of rupees in worth were accepted. One project is worth Rs2.66 billion and approved another project worth Rs51.299 billion to the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC)
The meeting was chaired by Planning Commission Deputy Chairman Mohammad Jehanzeb Khan and gave the go-ahead for two projects at a total cost of PKR 54 billion.
At The Central Development Working Party (CDWP) meeting led over by Deputy Chairman Planning Commission Mohammad Jehanzeb Khan, cleared one development project with a cost of Rs. 2.66bn & approved one project worth Rs. 51.29bn to the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) for further consideration.
Senior officials from Planning Commission and Federal Ministries/Divisions also joined in the meeting while representatives from Provincial Governments engaged through video conferences.
Projects related to Transport & Communications were considered in the meeting.
A project related to Transport & Communications presented in the meeting, namely “Feasibility Studies and Detailed Engineering Design for KPCIP (Transport and Municipal Services) Under Project Readiness Financing –PRF2″ worth Rs. 2666.08 million were discussed in detail by the forum. The project’s location is Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province in Bannu, Dera Ismail Khan, Abbottabad, Kohat, Mardan, Peshawar.
The project envisages engineering and procurement support, planning feasibility, complete design and capacity building for Urban Municipal Services, project management, financial management, procurement, transport planning, etc.
Another Transport & Communications project presented in the meeting, namely “New Gwadar International Airport (NGIA) 2nd Revision” worth Rs. 51298.175 million referred to the ECNEC for further consideration. The second revised PC-1 of the project has been presented by Aviation Division scope and cost of ASF camp, CAA residential building to be supported and executed by Pakistan side has developed. The forum accorded go-ahead being an ongoing project with the directions to review PSDP requirements keeping in view limited development portfolio and future revenues to the country.
The Deputy Chairman Planning Commission also directed that combine electricity generation from Solar & Wind should be explored to satisfy the future requirements for Gwadar Airport.
Earlier in the same month, A meeting of CDWP was held at the CDA Secretariat under the chairmanship of CDA Chairman Aamir Ali Ahmed, in which PC-I and PC-II of eight development projects were approved.
According to details, Islamabad Bus Service, with a project cost of Rs873 million, was approved, which would be finished by February, 2022. This bus service will run on three routes named Sohan Garden to Faisal Mosque, Bhara Kahu to Faiz Ahmed Faiz metro station and from Tarnol Railway station to M-5 Metro station.
The meeting also recommended the construction of 115 public toilets at various city locations to facilitate the citizens with an approximate cost of Rs40 million, completed in six months.
